Not too long ago, I was happily surprised by my gal, and was whisked away to the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, Ca. (About an hour north of San Francisco) This place was awesome, since I’ve been a huge Peanuts fan growing up. So, if you’re ever in the area, it is definitely worth checking it out. The highlight for me was that Mr. Schulz’s home studio, which he created all his work, was placed in the museum. (Ink stained drawing table included.)

So, check out the new iPhone project “SF Heroes”. I worked the UI & Graphic Design for this project created by Cosmicube and for the city of San Francisco’s Department of Emergency Management.

Riffing on social gaming mobile applications such as FarmVille and FourSquare, San Francisco wants to reward you for disaster preparation – not with money, but with digital satisfaction.

Employing a motivational method known to tech industry aficionados as “gamification,” The City’s Department of Emergency Management said a new app called SF Heroes will be available for the iPhone on Friday, with an Android version coming in spring. The game allows users to connect with friends and complete tasks through games and in real life, earning them “badges” that rank them against online counterparts.

They wanted a fun comicbook look. It’s a little retro and a lot bold. This app available on iTunes now, and for Android later in the year. ~G

So, I’ve FINALLY read through all the books from “A Song of Ice and Fire” series by George R. R. Martin. For all those not in the know, it’s the books that spawned the Game of Thrones series on HBO. The series is great, and the books are also great. However, they’re quite painful to read. Reason why, (to me) it’s a weird experience to read, when you are expecting a character to just die at any time. It’s hard to invest yourself as a reader, invest into his characters, invest into his storyline, when after 4800 pages, the story still is far from over.

Anyways, I’m totally hooked, and will get myself all frustrated again when the sixth book drops. Now I’m going to watch the hbo show again.

I’m angry, and honestly jealous, of the money that flows thru these buildings called the Financial District. It upsets me that I see someone wearing a $2,000 suit, and I struggle just to pay my bills. But, those are my issues.

Call me lazy, but I think I’ll just buy these protesters some supplies. (i.e. Water, deodorant & coffee). My head needs to wrap around how they could protest, better. I want to see a strong voice, instead of the patchouli-oiled-up dude tripping and twirling on the corner, feeding his parrot.

People are angry, and people are trying to do something about it. Currently there’s a block of tents along Market St., in front of the Federal bldg, right by the Bart Embarcadero Station entrance. The protest is slowly growing, and with the evident police presence, now downtown (in laced-up booted, pre-riot outfits. But, dogs, helmets & clubs within close reach.), this protest is probably going to stay around a bit.

There’s an unsettling energy in the area, maybe I should take up twirling in anger myself, and tweet about it.

Anyways, I have a blog and that’s my 2 cent opinion.

Oh Apple, with “Siri”, now we don’t need any friends, or executive assistants anymore. So, if you can make us an iLatte for our morning coffee, we’d be set.
